Catfish Me
One of my favorite TV shows is the TV show on MTV called Catfish. I’m sure you’re familiar with the concept of the show.
I can’t help but be jealous of the people that are getting catfished. They’re getting text messages almost constantly while I struggle to find someone to text me every day, to check up on me, to ask how my day was, to ask about work.
They’re developing that emotional connection through text message. Me, a demisexual, a sapiosexual, I like that because I am very wordy. My love language is words of affirmation. I express myself through words. I like the idea of developing a mental and emotional connection with someone through text message back-and-forth. Catfish do this.
They aren’t relying on physical touch or meetings. They’re not relying on phone calls or FaceTime. As an introvert with anxiety, I hate talking on the phone.
With my sleep schedule and work schedule, good luck getting me on FaceTime.
These catfish don’t seem to mind long-distance, just like me. Eventually, it wouldn’t be long distance for long because of my relationship goals of marriage. I would relocate.
Me with my hopeless romantic mind, I’ve always had a fantasy about being catfished. Where it’s some guy from my past who realizes I’m the one, the one who got away, misses me, shouldn’t have let me go, all of that, and therefore he catfishes me just talk to me again.
